Cancellation of the Salon de la Finance

The Salon de la Finance, which was planned on 16 and 17 September 2009 in the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva, must be called off this year in view of the too small number of registrations.

The first Salon de la Finance in autumn 2008 already fell into the middle of the financial crisis and therefore could not fulfil the expected number of visitors. Also the location of the CICG being not in the centre of Geneva made it more difficult as well as the fact that a new fair needs to reach certain brand awareness.

A survey among the exhibitors showed that a majority was interested in a renewed participation in 2009. The dramatic development at the financial markets and the accompanying budget shortenings at the financial institutions led to the fact that numerous exhibitors cannot participate in 2009.

Of course we regret the cancellation of the Salon de la Finance for 2009 very much. However, we are convinced that a financial fair in the French speaking part of Switzerland has a future. We plan to accomplish a Salon de la Finance again in 2010 in the centre of Geneva.
